Formula 1 2027 · 12 December 2027Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2027: Yas Marina Season Finale, Grandstands and Travel Guide
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2027 is round 24 and the season finale, a sprint weekend at Yas Marina Circuit with the race on Sunday 12 December. This guide covers the circuit and its five official grandstands, getting there from the airport, where to stay on Yas Island and in the city, and how to prepare while tickets are not yet on sale.
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2027: date and sprint weekend finale
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2027 closes the F1 season as round 24 of 24, with the race on Sunday 12 December 2027 and the weekend beginning on Friday 10 December. It is one of the ten sprint weekends of the year, so a short sprint race is added to qualifying and the Grand Prix.
As the finale, it carries extra weight: championship battles are often decided here, and the atmosphere reflects that. Session times have not been published, and the organiser will release them a few weeks before the event. Race distance is expected to be about 290 km under the 2027 rules, so the 58 laps of 2026 will probably be fewer.
The weekend also tends to include concerts and entertainment around the race. To see the whole run-in to the finale, open the F1 2027 calendar.
Why F1 Abu Dhabi and Yas Marina stand out
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix circuit
Yas Marina Circuit is 5.281 km long with 16 turns, and its capacity is about 60,000. Kevin Magnussen holds the lap record, 1:25.637, set in a Haas in 2024. The circuit's pit-lane exit goes through a tunnel, which is one of the most unusual features in the sport.
Abu Dhabi F1 history
The first race was held on 1 November 2009, and it was Formula 1's first day-to-night race, starting in daylight and finishing under the lights. The 2021 finale gave Max Verstappen his first title amid controversy. The layout was revised in 2021, changing Turns 5 and 6 and Turns 11 to 14.
The setting, with the marina and the sunset, makes it a favourite for photographers. For another end-of-year Middle East round, compare the Qatar Grand Prix.
Where to watch the Abu Dhabi GP: Yas Marina grandstands
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix grandstands
- Main Grandstand: on the start/finish straight.
- West Grandstand: on the western side of the circuit.
- North Grandstand: in the northern area.
- South Grandstand: in the southern area.
- Marina Grandstand: by the marina, good for the day-to-night finish.
These are the official names, though we have not confirmed which will be offered in 2027. For the views, the 1.14 km straight is the main overtaking spot, and the marina side gives the most atmospheric backdrop as the light fades.
General admission at the Abu Dhabi GP
Whether general admission or walkabout options exist for 2027 has not been verified. The live Tickets button will show what is available when sales open.
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2027 tickets and hospitality
Tickets are not on sale yet. When they open, the Tickets button on this page will show what is available, and the alert will notify you ahead of time. We do not list prices, since none are published and they will depend on the grandstand and package.
As a season finale and a sprint weekend, demand is likely to be strong, so decide in advance whether you want a three-day option and which grandstand suits you. Seats near the main straight and the marina tend to attract early interest.
Hospitality at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
Premium packages are a big part of the finale. Our F1 hospitality 2027 guide explains how to compare them and what to check before you book.
Getting to F1 Abu Dhabi and Yas Island
Abu Dhabi International Airport is the main arrival point, and Yas Island is about 30 minutes away. We have no confirmed information on shuttles, rail or parking for the weekend, so check the organiser's guidance once it is published.
Yas Island is compact, so once you arrive most plans become simple: you can walk between the circuit area and many places to eat. That convenience is one reason the finale suits a relaxed, multi-day trip rather than a rushed one. If you are flying in from far away, give yourself a day to adjust before the first session, and keep Monday free for the journey home.
Because many visitors stay on the island itself, walking access to the circuit is one of the great conveniences of the event. If you stay elsewhere, leave generous time for the journey on race day, particularly after the race, when everyone leaves together. First-timers will find the checklist in our First F1 Grand Prix 2027 guide useful.
Where to stay for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
Yas Island is the most convenient choice and offers walking access to the circuit. Saadiyat Island is a quieter, beach-focused alternative, and Abu Dhabi city has the widest range of restaurants, culture and shopping, though you will need to allow time for the transfer.
Book early because the finale draws international visitors, and check cancellation terms if your plans depend on ticket sales. Our Motorsport travel guides 2027 collect ideas for planning an end-of-season trip.
