NASCAR 2027 schedule: season overview
The NASCAR 2027 schedule runs from the Clash at Daytona on 13 February to the season finale at Homestead-Miami on 14 November. It was unveiled on 26 August 2026 and is treated here as confirmed, with just one or two race names still to be announced. The calendar contains 36 points-paying races and three non-points events, and it spreads across the United States from Florida to California.
Of the 36 points races, 32 are on ovals, three are on road courses and one is on a street course. That mix matters for fans: ovals deliver pack racing and long strategy, while the road and street races are where you will see the most overtaking, contact and big mistakes. This page works as the hub for the season, linking every race page on the site.
NASCAR 2027 season: who is defending and how it works
The reigning champion is Kyle Larson of Hendrick Motorsports, who won the 2025 title at Phoenix. In 2026 the series returned to a Chase format, in which the top 16 after 26 races go into the playoffs with staggered starting points and the old win-and-you're-in rule was dropped. The 2026 season finishes at Homestead on 8 November, and we will update the 2027 rules and driver line-ups here as they are confirmed.
We list no 2027 driver line-ups yet, because none have been confirmed for this guide. Use the alert on this page if you want to be told when the picture is clearer.

NASCAR 2026-27 track types: which race suits you
Superspeedways such as the Daytona 500 and NASCAR Talladega April are the places for dramatic pack racing, where one mistake can involve half the field. Short tracks such as NASCAR Bristol April and NASCAR Martinsville April offer constant action and close contact in a compact setting. The intermediate ovals, such as those at Las Vegas, Kansas and Charlotte, reward strategy and tyre management.
If you prefer road racing, the three road courses at NASCAR COTA, NASCAR Sonoma and NASCAR Watkins Glen are the best bets, and NASCAR San Diego adds the only street course on the schedule. Each is a different experience, so a visitor from Britain can pick the type of race that matches their taste.
How to choose a NASCAR 2027 race to attend
For a first trip, the Daytona 500 is the obvious headline, though it is also the busiest and the one for which travel needs the most planning. The Coca-Cola 600 puts you in the heart of stock-car country, and the Brickyard 400 adds a famous venue and a famous name. History lovers might choose the Southern 500 or the All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro.
If you want to combine racing with a city break, look at Austin, Las Vegas, Nashville or San Diego. For a quiet countryside weekend, Watkins Glen and New Hampshire suit well. Most fans find that picking the venue first, then the date, gives better results than picking the date alone.
