Daytona Summer 400: Daytona's second visit of the year

Where February is about ceremony, this race is about survival. Round 25 takes place from Thursday 26 August to Saturday 28 August 2027 and is held on a Saturday. The date is confirmed. In 2026 it was run on 29 August, so the slot is stable. The spring version is covered under the Daytona 500.

NASCAR Daytona Beach: superspeedway tension in summer heat

The track is the same 2.5-mile tri-oval, but conditions change everything. Heat makes cars slip and raises the temperature of engines and tyres, and thunderstorms are a real risk; a rain delay can stretch a Saturday into the early hours, so pack patience as well as a poncho. Teams also have to manage cooling carefully, because running in a tight draft starves the radiator of air. Packs run three-wide, and aggression rises sharply as the laps count down.
