NASCAR St. Louis 2027 at World Wide Technology Raceway: Gateway Race Guide

The St. Louis stop in the late-summer run

Round 24 follows the Bristol Night Race and comes just before Daytona. Track activity starts on Friday 20 August and the race runs on Sunday 22 August 2027. In 2026 the equivalent event was held on 13 September, so the date has moved earlier. It is confirmed.

NASCAR St. Louis venue: World Wide Technology Raceway at a glance

Often called Gateway, the oval opened in 1997 and measures 1.25 miles. It has a distinctive shape, with a dogleg on the frontstretch and heavy braking into the first corner, which gives it a character apart from the standard intermediate. NASCAR's top division has raced here since 2022, so the venue is still building its own traditions, and the crowd has a young, enthusiastic feel. Grip tends to improve as rubber goes down, with the preferred groove moving higher as the race wears on, which keeps crews adjusting.

NASCAR St. Louis: crossing the river: access and stays

The track is about 15 miles from downtown St. Louis, on the Illinois side of the river. Visitors often stay in Missouri, close to the Gateway Arch and the riverfront, and drive across on the interstate. Late August is hot and humid, so a hat and water are useful. For the whole season see the NASCAR 2027 schedule, or look ahead to the Southern 500.
