Rallye Monte-Carlo 2027: opening round of the WRC in the Alps

Rallye Monte-Carlo 2027 opens the World Rally Championship season on 21-24 January 2027, with Gap as the base for the rally. This guide explains the mixed surfaces, the famous Col de Turini, what we do and do not know about the route, and how to prepare as a spectator.

Rallye Monte-Carlo 2027 dates and base

Rallye Monte-Carlo 2027 runs from 21 to 24 January 2027 and is round one of the 15-round WRC calendar. The 2026 edition took place on 22-25 January, so the dates are similar to last year's. The service base is Gap, in the Hautes-Alpes. A ceremonial start in Monaco is in line with series tradition, but we will confirm this only when the organiser publishes the programme.

See how the rally fits the season on our WRC 2027 calendar page, and note that Rally Sweden follows less than a month later.

What makes Rallye Monte-Carlo unusual

The Monte-Carlo rally is run on mixed asphalt, snow and ice, and conditions can change within a single stage. A dry road can turn icy after one bend, which forces crews to make tyre choices that are part gamble, part judgement.

The Col de Turini and Rallye Monte-Carlo 2027 stages

The Col de Turini is one of the classic mountain passes used in recent editions. The 2027 itinerary has not been published, so we cannot promise that any particular stage will be included. Treat the Turini as a likely candidate rather than a certainty.

Watching Rallye Monte-Carlo 2027 as a spectator

The stages are in the mountains of the Alpes-Maritimes and the Hautes-Alpes. Use official spectator zones only, reach them by local road early in the morning and expect road closures well before the first car passes. Cold is a real risk, so bring warm clothing, sturdy footwear and food.

Where to stay for Rallye Monte-Carlo 2027

Gap is the base, so it is the obvious choice, but demand rises quickly. We do not name specific properties. Plan your route in advance and read our Motorsport travel guides 2027 for packing and travel tips.

Rallye Monte-Carlo 2027 tickets

Spectator access and tickets have not been announced. When they are, the Tickets button on this page will show live options with prices displayed automatically. Many stages are accessible without a ticket, so rules may differ by zone.
