The table below lists every venue currently associated with the season, with the weekend span and the status of each date. Only the Indianapolis 500 is confirmed. Ten other dates are provisional, and the final seven are to be confirmed. As of 11 October 2026 the series had not published its complete calendar, so expect changes.

How the IndyCar 2027 season is taking shape

An early-season run on the IndyCar 2027 schedule

The season is expected to open on the streets of Florida, move to an Arizona oval and then to Texas and Alabama before the western swing at Long Beach. That opening block mixes street courses, one oval and a permanent road course, so teams must adapt quickly.

The month of May on the IndyCar 2027 schedule

May is the centre of the year. The Indianapolis Grand Prix on the road course comes first, and the Indianapolis 500 follows on 30 May. The next weekend brings Detroit, and June continues with Gateway and Road America.

Rounds still to be confirmed in IndyCar 2027

Seven venues appear without a date: Mid-Ohio, Nashville, Portland, Markham, Washington DC, Milwaukee and Laguna Seca. In 2026 these rounds filled the summer and early autumn, with Laguna Seca closing the year on 6 September. That is a reference, not a forecast.

What is confirmed for IndyCar 2027

Alex Palou of Chip Ganassi Racing won the 2026 championship, his fifth title and fourth in a row. For 2027, Christian Lundgaard has a multi-year deal with Ganassi, Scott Dixon moves to Arrow McLaren after 24 seasons at Ganassi, and Dennis Hauger is confirmed at A.J. Foyt Racing. Arrow McLaren, Team Penske and Ed Carpenter Racing have all renewed with Chevrolet.

What is not yet settled for IndyCar 2027

Most other line-ups are not officially confirmed, so we do not list them. Dale Coyne Racing and Juncos Hollinger Racing have yet to announce their plans. We update this page when teams publish confirmed driver news.

Oval, street or road course at IndyCar 2027

Ovals such as Phoenix offer pack racing and high speed. Street races such as St. Petersburg and Arlington bring a city atmosphere and tight corners. Road courses such as Barber let you walk the grounds and see many corners.

Which IndyCar 2027 weekend suits you

First-time visitors often start with a street event, while serious fans plan around the Indianapolis 500, the biggest date of the year. Families may prefer permanent circuits with space to move around. Think about the weather, the travel distance and how many days you want to attend.

Ticket availability differs by round. Tickets for the season opener are already on sale, and the Indianapolis 500 is also on sale, while other events will open as organisers release categories. Use the Tickets button on each race page to see current options. We do not quote prices because they vary by seat and sales period.

Looking ahead beyond the IndyCar 2027 season

The series is already looking at 2028. A new IR-28 chassis was due to start testing at Sebring shortly after 8 October 2026, which signals a technical change for the following year. For 2027 the focus remains on the current car, the Chevrolet renewals and the final calendar release.
