NASCAR Atlanta July: how the July race differs from February

The two Atlanta dates sit at opposite ends of the first half of the year, and conditions differ greatly. In July the surface is hot, grip drops, and cars slide more, so tyre wear and handling matter. The February event, covered at NASCAR Atlanta February, usually runs on a cooler track. Round 20 weekend begins on Friday 16 July and finishes on Sunday 18 July 2027; the date is confirmed.

Atlanta July: the track reshaped for pack racing

Following a rebuild before the 2022 season, EchoPark Speedway has steeper banking and tighter corners than before. It is now a tight-packed, drafting track where several lines can work. The Hampton circuit has a history that stretches back to 1960, but the current version is a very different challenge from the old one.
