NASCAR Michigan 2027 at Michigan International Speedway: High-Speed Weekend Guide

Michigan in June: the 2027 calendar position

The mid-June trip to the Great Lakes state falls between Pocono and Chicagoland, with track action starting on Friday 18 June and the race on Sunday 20 June. The date has confirmed status.

NASCAR Michigan: a two-mile oval built for speed

Michigan International Speedway opened in 1968 and is a two-mile D-shaped oval with wide corners and low banking. The width allows drivers to race three abreast, and fuel mileage often plays a role late in the race. Because speeds are so high, drafting matters here almost as much as at the superspeedways.

Choosing seats at Michigan International Speedway

Tickets are listed now on the Tickets button. The oval is large, so a seat high in the frontstretch stands is ideal for following the whole race, while lower rows bring the noise. Take a look at the plan first.

Fuel mileage is one of the themes of Michigan racing. When a caution flag falls late, crews gamble between stopping for fresh tyres or staying out, and the decision can swing the result. From a high seat you can read those choices as they unfold, watching who dives onto pit road and who stays on track. Knowing the story helps casual visitors follow along.

Michigan: brooklyn and the Irish Hills

The speedway lies in the Irish Hills, a region of lakes and rolling land south-west of Detroit and close to Jackson. Detroit Metropolitan airport is the nearest large hub, around an hour away. June is typically warm, sometimes humid, and rain showers can pass through. Cabins and lakeside lodging in the area are popular with race fans, so book ahead.
