NASCAR Talladega October 2027 at Talladega Superspeedway: Halloween Weekend Guide

NASCAR Talladega October: why the autumn race is feared by contenders

With only a couple of rounds left, a single accident can end a title challenge, and drivers know it. The YellaWood 500 runs from Friday 29 October to Sunday 31 October 2027 and the date is confirmed. In 2026 the matching race took place on 25 October. The spring visit is described at NASCAR Talladega April.

Talladega October: a 2.66-mile pack race with nowhere to hide

The track is the longest on the calendar, and its high banking keeps the cars bunched together. No driver can control what happens behind or beside them, so the result is out of anyone's hands until the final lap. For a spectator, the sight and sound of forty cars racing in a single mass is unforgettable. Drivers often form partnerships on the track, helping each other through the draft, then break them in the last few laps when only one can win. That alliance-and-betrayal story is half the appeal, and it plays out in full view of the grandstands.

No seats are listed at present. The alert on this page is the quickest way to find out when they go on sale. Big grandstands line the frontstretch, and the main decision will be your distance from the start-finish line.

NASCAR Lincoln: camping, costumes and cooler air

The infield camping tradition is strong in October, and the Halloween date adds a layer of fancy dress. The area east of Birmingham has limited hotels, so book early if you prefer a bed. Temperatures are pleasant, from mild afternoons to chilly nights. Before it came Phoenix; after it come Martinsville and the finale. The whole run is on the NASCAR 2027 schedule.
