Seeing Hamilton live: what makes a race weekend worthwhile

Even if you are not following the whole season, a Grand Prix weekend is more than the race. Practice and qualifying let you see drivers pushing at the limit, and the support events fill the programme between F1 sessions.

With a seven-time champion in the field, many fans arrive early to stand by the fence or visit the pit-lane walk if one is offered. Whether that is available varies by circuit and ticket type, so check the details when you book.

Pack sun protection, ear defenders and a waterproof layer, because Silverstone weather can change quickly. A portable phone charger is also useful for tickets and maps.
