Aston Martin F1 2027: drivers, Honda engine and where to see the team
Aston Martin goes into 2027 with Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, a Silverstone base and a works Honda power unit that began in 2026. This guide explains the line-up for the new season, the engine partnership, the team's lineage and the Grands Prix that suit its supporters best.
Aston Martin F1 2027 drivers: Alonso and Stroll
Both drivers are confirmed. Fernando Alonso, from Spain, drives number 14. He made his debut in 2001, won the world title in 2005 and 2006 and has 32 Grand Prix victories. Seeing him race in his forties is a draw in itself, and his experience of every circuit on the calendar makes him a fascinating driver to watch on tricky tracks and in changing weather.
Lance Stroll, from Canada, drives number 18. He debuted in 2017 and has yet to win a race, but he is also confirmed for 2027 and brings a strong following to his home event in Montreal. The pairing mixes a double world champion with a driver who has been around the paddock for years, which gives the garage a stable feel.

What the Honda link means for Aston Martin F1 fans
A fresh works pairing takes time to mature, so many fans enjoy watching the progress race by race. Pay attention to straight-line speed, reliability and how the car behaves out of slow corners, because that is where an engine partnership usually shows its strengths first. Silverstone base and Aston Martin F1 lineage
The official entry name is Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team and the base is at Silverstone, right beside the British Grand Prix circuit. The team's current identity dates from 2021, but its lineage runs back through Racing Point and Jordan, two names that many long-time fans remember fondly. As a result, the team has no constructors' title under its present name.
Adrian Newey is listed as team principal, which adds an extra layer of interest to the technical side of the project. Living next to a circuit also means the team enjoys easy access to British fans, who often turn up in large numbers to see the cars and drivers close to home.
Where to watch Aston Martin F1 2027 live
The team contests all 24 rounds of the F1 2027 calendar, beginning with testing in Bahrain on 24 to 27 February and the opening race on 14 March. Alonso's compatriots will head for the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid on 12 September. Stroll's supporters will look to the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal on 23 May. For anyone based in the UK, the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on 4 July is a home event for the team itself.
The Motorsport calendar 2027 shows how those dates sit around other series. Session times for 2027 are not published yet, and organisers normally release them a few weeks before the event.
