KTM Factory Racing MotoGP 2027: Alex Marquez and Di Giannantonio Take Over

KTM Factory Racing, officially Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, rebuilds its line-up for 2027 with Alex Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio, both announced on 6 July 2026. This guide covers the Austrian works team, the riders, what the new engine rules mean and how to book a trip to see the team race.

KTM Factory Racing MotoGP 2027: the Austrian works team

KTM Factory Racing runs under the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing name and is based in Mattighofen, Austria. It is the manufacturer's works squad, with its sister team Red Bull KTM Tech3 using the same brand of machinery.

Austria is also a MotoGP venue, so the factory has a true home event on the calendar. The 2027 round in Spielberg takes place at the end of August.

KTM Factory Racing 2027 rider line-up

Alex Marquez joins KTM Factory Racing

Alex Marquez, born on 23 April 1996 and racing with number 73, moves to the Red Bull KTM factory team. The announcement came on 6 July 2026. He has no MotoGP title yet, but he brings years of experience in the premier class.

Fabio Di Giannantonio in the KTM Factory Racing garage

Fabio Di Giannantonio, born on 10 October 1998 and racing with number 49, makes the same move and was announced on the same day. Both riders are listed as confirmed for 2027, so the team has a fully new look.

What the 2027 engine rules mean for KTM Factory Racing

The new rules cut engines to 850 cc with a 75 mm bore and fuel tanks to 20 litres. Fuel must be 100% sustainable, ride-height devices are banned and Pirelli will be the sole tyre supplier through 2031. A new Sprint qualifying format changes the weekend rhythm.

A factory with a fresh pair of riders and a fresh regulation set has plenty to learn quickly. KTM Factory Racing will get its first real answers in the Sepang shakedown on 29 and 30 January 2027, followed by the Sepang test and the Buriram test in early February.

Watching KTM Factory Racing live in 2027

The calendar lists 22 rounds and is described as provisional, so confirm dates before booking travel. The Austrian round is the obvious pick for fans of the brand, though the team races everywhere.
