World Endurance Championship 2027 · 26 September 20276 Hours of Fuji 2027: endurance racing in the shadow of the mountain
The 6 Hours of Fuji 2027 is round 8 of the WEC season, held on 24-26 September at Fuji Speedway in Oyama, Japan, close to its famous mountain backdrop. This guide explains the date, the circuit setting, the weather and how to plan your trip and follow ticket news.
6 Hours of Fuji 2027: date, venue and format
The weekend runs from 24 to 26 September 2027, with the race on Sunday 26 September. It is the eighth round on the WEC 2027 calendar, two weeks after Lone Star Le Mans in Texas. In 2026 the Fuji round was on 27 September, so the date is almost identical. The status is confirmed, but session times have not been published.
The venue is Fuji Speedway, in Oyama, Japan. The race lasts six hours, so you can see the whole event in a single day.
For fans in Europe or the Americas this is a long journey, so it pays to treat the race as part of a longer Japanese trip. Build in a day or two to recover from jet lag before the track action starts.
Fuji Speedway and the 6 Hours of Fuji
Fuji Speedway is known for a very long straight and a technical final sector, with the mountain visible in the background on a clear day. That mix means top speed, braking and traffic management are all important. Because the straight is long, slipstreaming and overtaking at the end of it often decide positions.
Weather at the 6 Hours of Fuji
Autumn in the mountains is changeable. Fog, rain and cool air can arrive quickly, and the mountain itself can disappear behind clouds. Dress in layers, bring a waterproof and be ready for the weather to affect the race.
Watching the 6 Hours of Fuji
We have no confirmed 2027 list of grandstands, general admission areas or camping, so we do not name any. Look for the official spectator information when it is released, and pick spots that match the action you like: speed on the straight or the stop-and-go sections later in the lap.
Walking the site between sessions is a good way to see different corners, and keeping a rain jacket in your bag is wise throughout the weekend.
